Summer is here (fiiinally!!), and with it comes everything from ice cream in the sun to BBQ nights, hotel breakfasts, and maybe a drink or two. Just the way it should be! But if you're like me and want to keep a nice balanceÂ
without
feeling like you have to âstart overâ in the fall, here are a few simple food swaps to keep in mind â especially when you're away âïž
Itâs not about cutting things out â itâs aboutÂ
choosing smart.
đŠ Ice cream in the heat
Instead of:
Scoop ice cream in a cone
I love:
Popsicles, frozen yogurt, or frozen banana/smoothie-style ice cream
â Still summery, sweet, and cold â but easier on your stomach and energy levels.
âïž Snacks in the car or on the plane
Instead of:
 Chocolate, candy, or chips
Go for:
Nuts, a protein bar, rice cakes, or fruit
â Works just as well in the car, on the plane, or at the beach.
đ„ Hotel breakfast
Instead of just:
 Croissant + juice
I also choose:
Eggs, plain yogurt, fruit + coffee/water
â More protein (keeps you full longer & supports muscle growth), less sugar â but stillÂ
so
 good!
đč Drinks at the beach
Instead of:
 Sugary soda or sweet cocktails
Try this:
Flavored sparkling water, sugar-free iced tea, or alcohol-free spritzers with berries
â Still festive and refreshing â minus the sugar crash.
đ BBQ nights
Instead of:
Heavy sauces + white bread + fries
You should try:
Grilled veggies, homemade tzatziki, sweet potato & some kind of protein
â You get the same cozy vibe, but with a nice nutrition boost!
đ Dinner out
Instead of:
 Creamy pasta or pizza
Sometimes I go for:
Grilled meat with potatoes and salad, a poke bowl, or a lighter pasta with a tomato base
â Still feels like vacation, but with a bit more energy â and no food coma.
But most importantly: nothing is âoff limitsâ
This isnât about what youÂ
have
to swap â itâs about whatÂ
feels good
 sometimes.
I make these choices when I feel like it, and I enjoy the other stuff just as much too.
Itâs not about restriction â itâs about balance. Right? đ
