1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F) using both upper and lower heat.
2. Start by slicing the potatoes and eggplant into thin pieces, preferably using a mandolin slicer, but it's not necessary.
3. Brown the lean ground beef with the onion and mix in all the other meat sauce ingredients once the beef has started to brown. Let it simmer for a minute.
4. Layer the potatoes, eggplant, meat sauce and cooking cream twice in a baking dish, pressing everything together firmly. Finally, sprinkle the grated cheese on top. Place the dish on the lowest rack in the oven for approximately 50-60 minutes!
